History: Mount Mercy Academy proudly celebrates the achievements and contributions of more than 12,000 graduates, as it continues its educational mission to the community.

Location: Nestled in a residential area of South Buffalo, Mount Mercy Academy is attached to Mercy Center, the home of the Sisters of Mercy in Buffalo and directly next to Mercy Hospital, part of the Catholic Health System.

College Acceptance: 100% of Mount Mercy's most recent graduates are accepted into college

Class of 2022 earned over $8 million in scholarships and merit-based grants.

This is approximately $368,000 per student. 

Every student completes at least 100 hours of community service in their 4 years.

87% of students were enrolled in at least 1 college-level course in the 2021-2022 school year.

 

AP Scholars: 6 students have been named AP Scholars, 5 students are AP Scholars with Honor, and 6 students are AP Scholars with distinction as designated by the College Board.

 

AP Courses: Mount Mercy currently offers 10 Advanced Placement courses and has dual enrollment courses offered through: Trocaire College, Hilbert College, SUNY Erie and SUNY Buffalo State. 

 

Athletics/ Activities: Over 85% of students participate in after school athletics or activities. Mount Mercy Academy is a member of the Monsignor Martin League; 13 Varsity sports and over 35 clubs and extracurricular activities are offered. 

 

Tuition Assistance: 76% of our student families receive some sort of financial aid.

 

Admission: Admission to Mount Mercy Academy is open to young women who are seeking a challenging college preparatory program. Students must also achieve a satisfactory score on the school's entrance exam, which is usually taken in November of their 8th grade year but can be taken at any point in time after the initial exam is administered.

Students: The student body consists of students from Erie, Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

 

School Year: The academic year includes two semesters. Each semester is divided into two quarters. School begins the first week of September and concludes in June. (See School Calendar for exact dates.)
